Present a delegation from city of Troy, N.Y. It was decided to go on immediately this Fall to lay out this road. Fitchburg now completed to Baldwinsville, nearly through Royalston, soon to Athol, then through Northfield to Brattleboro, this Fall. Also, and for which a large appropriation was made, to make a Survey for a route across from this road to Troy, N.Y. So there will be business enough this Fall. But Mr. Edwards is not yet authorized to proceed and secure more help but says he thinks, there is not doubt of my getting a situation somewhere about it, if I will wait for it.

So - Thus - have I been writing -- at residence of Mr. Albert C. Parson & his wife Hannah, and Mr. Jos. A. Stevens and his wife Jane, with their Children Albert P. 6, Maria P. 4, and Jos. Wells S. - 1. Very pleasant family, or families, all in one house. Mr. Parsons a very fine man, his wife Hannah rather a superior woman, Jos. A. you know. His wife Jane, I like. The Children all pleasant & bright. Parsons & Stevens, a flourishing firm. Boots, Shoes & Leather. extremely engaged in the manufacture of leather, and in Boot & Shoe business.
I have loafed some, rode out with the Ladies and picked plums considerable, worked in the Tan yard, and Bark Mill, etc. etc. Old Mr. Wells & wife, Jos' wifes parents, of Sherborne have been here the past week; and I have a valuable invitation over to Shelburne, 18 ms. with the Ladies, to a peach picking the coming week. Think I "shall be thar".
I am extremely anxious to do a good many things, but the most important, seems to be just now to hear from some of you folks down East. But how to compass it, seems the difficulty. I cannot of course, if none of you write to me. But where shall you direct your letters?
