Dear Brother
I arrived here at College, only last night, expect to remain here today, and take the stage for Richmond tomorrow. I intended to have written to you, before this time, and have sent to you that money, but have been delaying it, as is too natural for me to do in many things.
You must try to excuse my remissness partly perhaps on the ground of waiting till I began to be settled somewhere. I am expecting to commence School in Richmond. Richmond Corner is the P.O. direction next Monday, and I suppose I can continue there as long as I chose, at $18.00 per month. that is three or four months, but I do not mean to stay much more than two, for, after being out the fall term, I think I must be here again at the Commencement of the Spring term, especially on account of the Lectures, and, as it is partly a Subscription School, I can leave about when I choose, not having pledged myself to stay.
Term here is one Week longer; Vacation 8 weeks, So I can stay 9 weeks, in 10 at a pinch.
