Chem.lec. 1,00 I suppose I am charged for lectures four terms, all last year Com. dinner 2,00 Also commencement dinner & order of Exercises, which seems to be charged to every Student, 50 per term, although coming only once a year, & then no student permitted to be present at the dinner till after he has graduated!!! The Chemical lectures are only one term in a year, and then no one is permitted to attend them till his Junior year. Ad.standing 24,00 I have paid $20,00 on my term bill & have got perhaps 7, left. If I can make them take off the last year charges, say 26,25, perhapa I can get along. The next term bill ought not to be but about $15,00. I shall get some 7,00 for building fires, and mean to some for sawing wood. I felt rather blue when I first got here, & heartily wished my self back again, especially being after initiations. & so little money, but I begin to feel a good deal better and am very fast making up my lost studies, 15th was examined on the fall's studies & passed fairly. 3 weeks of this term to study for yet though. I board in Club as fall, cost then, 948 per week. Chum & I little idea hurting ourselves. I suppose you got the trunk I left at Bangor with its contents. You know my umbrella. AD end of handle. I left it in the bar room at the Bangor House!
