I have got my 'term bill.' It says $50,00 or 48,96 !! I dont know as there is any way I can get rid of paying the last year's bills. I shall try hard though. Tuition 8,00 Believe I shall till the Prix, that I cant pay it, should be obliged to go right off & earn the money and Rent 3,43 perhaps wont come back. Much as I could do to come at all & not to blame for not coming sooner. Av.dam.?1,79 Much more than usual, too bad. Inceping?1,00, Woman who makes beds etc. Library ,50 Whether one reads or not. Monitor ,11 Monitor receives 13 dolls. per term Bell ,14 Bell ringer received 16,66 per term. Rec.rooms,85 For care of recitation rooms, fuel & lights, lights never used. Wood 1,06 Wood is $4,25 per cord, it is a college Monopoly. Books 3,45 I had to buy some books last fall of the College, as you know my money was scarce Board 1,72 I boarded a little in the Commons before going to the club. Chem.lec. 1,00 I suppose I am charged for lectures four terms, all last year Com. dinner 2,00 Also commencement dinner & order of Exercises, which seems to be charged to every Student, 50 per term, although coming only once a year, & then no student permitted to be present at the dinner till after he has graduated!!! The Chemical lectures are only one term in a year, and then no one is permitted to attend them till his Junior year. Ad.standing 24,00 I have paid $20,00 on my term bill & have got perhaps 7, left. If I can make them take off the last year charges, say 26,25, perhapa I can get along. The next term bill ought not to be but about $15,00. I shall get some 7,00 for building fires, and mean to some for sawing wood. I felt rather blue when I first got here, & heartily wished my self back again, especially being after initiations. & so little money, but I begin to feel a good deal better and am very fast making up my lost studies, 15th was examined on the fall's studies & passed fairly. 3 weeks of this term to study for yet though. I board in Club as fall, cost then, 948 per week. Chum & I little idea hurting ourselves. I suppose you got the trunk I left at Bangor with its contents. You know my umbrella. AD end of handle. I left it in the bar room at the Bangor House!
