DuQuoin March 24 '63 March 24 1863 DuQuoin Dear Ones I do not know but I may start home tomorrow or next day, and get there before this letter will. But may not and so write. Great rains Sunday and Monday, after the beautiful weather of last week. But the rain helps to bring forward vegetation. Leaves are coming out, & blossoms too; and grass is considerable. The Prairies entire are green as grass. Coal Business is prosperous And is to be - to the benefit of our pockets.
