My Dearest, I thought all day yesterday how you would be expecting a letter when the mail came last night. But you know a letter to go up Monday must be mailed on Saturday, and we did not get down till 8 or half past. And then thought we might get away perhaps today or tomorrow. But the Lawyers I must see are out of Town one of them is expected back tomorrow or next day, and I will hope to go back to Milo on Friday at farthest. But it is uncertain. I have kept thinking of you ever since we left Milo: It troubles me that you should have to get up in the night all the time to care of Mayo: and to lift him too. I hope you will not do it much. No matter the Bed--even 'Mine Me unclear bed' --had better suffer than you yourself. We had quite a comfortable ride down here. Though the road is very bad--so much rain, and so much heavy teaming.
