Sunday July 11th

This morning, and in the night some, I had a pain in my bowels, sick at my stomach, or something attended with a diarhea; but I ? got over it pretty much I guess. I did not feel like eating any breakfast, and the folks up and got me a portion of senna and some water gravel? made out of flour, etc. with accustomed kindness. The physic is now operating, I have done being sick to my stomach, and guess that I have got all over it. My health has been very good indeed all summer, hardly had even a headache at all, been perfectly well and hearty. I had a little minite? mite? of head ache Friday

I have been to meeting this fore noon, on account of my physic. If I got to the school next term, I shall want some new books A Greek reader, perhaps dictionary, and I ought to have a Classical dictionary not the great one that Mr. Hatch had but a small edition which I like better, about as big as my little Latin dictionary. I would also be convenient if I could have one of the new kind of latin grammars, but I can get along very well without, I guess. I do not want any more books this term. By the way, if I am going to get a really classical education, it is rather a pity that Ann got such an abridgement of Ainsworth's Lexicon, as so poorly bound etc. as that is, I should near cut 2 or 3 most?, and it is not so good neither, though I can get among with it. I did not know until I saw it that there was such an edition I suppose when Ann enquired for Ainsworth: D. they thought they could get rid of one of those, and she did not know but it was the best one. I rather almost think I had better study french next term, if I go, at least when I get through the Algebra. Had not I? I have no opinion, myself, that I shall ever go to College. dont know sartin yet. Joe may go if he wants to! or Eliab. James W. has got the Illinois fever, strongly I believe. He says if he had $500, Maine would not see him more than one fortnight.
