Anna DW. July 4 '56 Elyria July 4th /56 Dear Mother We were very glad to find a letter from you awaiting us last evening as we arrived warm & weary at our own home. I wanted to hear from you very much feared you would put off writing & that we should not hear for several days. We do want to hear often dear Lucy must try to keep up good spirits the doctor still regards her case as on the whole a hopeful one. he does not think very favorably of taking creosote thinks mustard poultice or innhaling plaster as she can bear it would be good for the pain in her side. We found all well Libby was wild in demonstrations of joy at our return & Hattie with less outward expression behaved beautifully. Mary rushed in & kissed me too. home looks natural & pleasant. Quite {bowery?] [upside] [unclear] to be ready to set out for home Mond. I will some other time write some more of the mountains but I can express so inadequately my intenseness that I am quite discouraged about attempting it. Dear Lucy I was going to write some to you specially but must wait till reservation on delay sending this to day I feel dissatisfied that I could not help you more it seems as if I did not do half as much as I might. Do keep up good courage the doctor has know one or two just such case with much love Anna
