 "The treaty" (qu? bargain)"  of Henderson with the Cherokees above alluded to," (See 1774) "was  brought to a conclusion, and a cession was made; but not without the warm opposition of Chief Occonostatu, who made an animated speech against it.  He represented the once flourishing state of his nation, the encroachments of the white people, and their insatiable desire for more land, in a bold & pathetic manner, but he did not prevail."
