If the Real Estate is estimated at $500,00, the whole personal property would amount to something over $200,00 or $300 more I should suppose. If that ought to be reckoned to the House hold furniture etc. as well as the Cattle etc. and I see now why it should not, that is unless Mother wishes to keep all the furniture etc, in her own hands and methinks she needs it not so much as the newly married couple, unless they are intending to fill up their house anew and in style, which would coast towards $1000.00, I believe it is estimated that the cost of furnishing a house properly & suitably should be rather more than the cost of the house.
Supposing underlined the Amount underlined or estimated value of Mother's property settled there are difficulties in the way of almost any way I can think of of settling up the affair. Charles, I suppose wishes the farm etc. in his possession He neither wishes to sell or to divide. He does not feel able at present to buy right out. To simply pay the interest every year, would not answer; it would of course leave the ownership of the property not in his hands, which I suppose he wants. The only feasible way I think of is an annuity in some shape. I could be made a life annuity. on the life assurance principles, but with some fuss: and moreover that would be hardly fair as it respects Mother's unmarried daughters who are unprovided for. How would an annuity for 20 year answer? $700, for twenty years would be towards $70, per year I believe,
