[covered up] out of Circulation certain Bills of Credit emitted by Act [pencilled note: Mar. 13 1780]

[covered up] [a]nd We want a proper Medium of Trade and for [covered up] of Credit to the amount of One hundred and [covered up] d and seventy three Dollars were emitted and [covered up] entitled "An Act for the payment of the public [covered up] [c]redit and for other purposes herein mentioned," And it is now [covered up] the said Bills of Credit be called in and the holders thereof paid for the same. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland that the Bills of Credit emitted by virtue of the said Act shall be and are hereby required to be brought in and delivered to the Treasurer of the Western Shore on or before the first day of June who shall lock them up in the Iron Chests or other safe place which Bills of Credit shall be counted and burnt by a Committee of both Houses of Assembly to be appointed at the next Session after the said first day of June next. And be it enacted that all Bills of Credit emitted by virtue of the said Act which shall not be brought in and delivered to the Treasurer aforesaid on or before the said first day of June next shall be forever hereafter irredeemable. And whereas by the said Act entitled "An Act for the "payment of the public Claims for emitting Bills of Credit and for other purposes therein "mentioned", passed at a Session of Assembly begun and held at the City of Annapolis on Saturday the first day of November in the Year seventeen hundred and sixty six [in pencil a above the line: 1766] it was among other things enacted that Bills of Credit of the denomination of Dollars and aliquot parts of a Dollar to the amount of One hundred and Seventy three thousand seven hundred and seventy three Dollars should be printed and struck and that the Bearer of any the said Bills should be entititled to receive Bills of Exchange payable in London at the rate of four shillings and six pence sterling per Dollar for any of the said Bills and that his Lordship the right Honourable the Lord Proprietary or the Governor or Commander in [?charge?] of the Province for the time being at some time betweent the twenty fifth day of March and
