At 11.30 P.M. we went to Brown's Hotel where they received election returns and remained there until 1 A.M. when we went to the Clifton Hotel + retired for the night. Wednesday, Nov. [?7?}th 1888 Today in Galesburg at 9.30 A.M. I went to the Hall with Ed. Rogers, he entered and I remained on the outside, he remained in there about ten minutes when he came out and told me that Martin got home last night, he reports every thing in favor of the strikers, we took a walk to Bechwald's saloon where we met the Riley Bros. + unclear Kelly, J. Riley, unclear Kelly and myself went to the Union Hotel Bar where I treated them to the drinks, Riley told me that the switchmen get paid to-morrow afternoon, We then went to the corner of Prairie + Main Sts. where we met a large crowd of strikers, they talked politics, Kelly, Riley Bros, T. Smithers, M. Morisey + myself went to Gardt's saloon where we had several drinks, I met Strauburg shortly after and we visited the White unclear + Morleys Saloons on Prairie St. At noon we went to the Clifton ouse and got dinner, we played cards at the hotel after dinner with J. Boyd + E. Rogers until 5.45 P.M. when we got supper.
