Stranburg made his appearance at 5:30pm. he told us they had a lively meeting, there was plenty of speaking done by R. Martin & ? and ? Martin edition of Press and People, they talked mostly of politics they are going to vote, to crush out the private army business (meaning Pinkertons special police Stranburg said a vote was taken, and all but ten were in favor of voting for Palmer, the ten were republicans, he said the boys intend to make themselves felt in the coming election. After supper I took a walk uptown with Brennan & Swanson they told me that the strikers were going to have another dance the 25th of this month for the benefit of the strikers, at the Armory Hall. R. Martin is one of the men getting it up. We visited Anderson's restaurant and I treated them to the cigars. I remained up town with Swanson and Brennen until 10:30pm when I went to the Hotel and retired.
