Howe volunteer to come by offering him all expenses, pay for his time and pay for a man to take his place while absent, Opr. then went to Bartholomew's Livery Stable, got a two seated rig and Bartholomew drove, in general conversation he told Opr. that Bowles hired rigs from him four or five times since about the 1st of May and either two or three times he kept the rig out all night and as he paid cash he has not the dates
