Today in Chicago Opt. met several Engineers. viz Delacy Gillick Sheeham and Jack Fenton formerly Engineer on the Rock Island Road. Fenton told Opt. that the Brotherhood had employed some of Mooney and Bolands men through the grievance committee to look after Pinkerton men and instigate matters in general. That Arthur Hodge Murphy or Monaghan all together could not declare the strike off. That the different divisions would have to be consulted as well as the General Grievance Committee they will meet next Sunday and try to come to some understanding anything that Op learns that he thinks will be of importance to the company he will report at once. Opr further says that Gillick says that they are now investigating the different Divisions in the U.S. for the purpose of finding out how they feel and how they are financially fixed also to see how much longer they will stand assessment as this is the last month they are obliged to pay Yours Respect Pinkertons Nat Det Agcy. per Wm A.
