31 going to carry on the business for the present - went to School until 4 o'clock - could not study very well - took leg bail and started on a walk across the river - found "Mrs. Syppy" so wet and sloshy that I thought it would not pay - turned back and found two class mates in the same fix - we all went up to the Gas works which were in operation 2 days and then frose up - found Capt - who used to board where I do - he showed us around the premises - how gas was made &c - we then seperated and it being nearly tea time I went to the House
