all is well till next fall I am in excellent health and spirits and things are represented as prosperous at home. Some 6 of the boys made applications for furloughs while we were at Huntsville last, but they have all been returned dis- approved. If I take a notion I may come and see the folks next fall or winter and then when I return I will have less than a year to stay. as it is we have but 15 more months to remain. Exclusive of furlough time, and if two months of furlough time is granted to us we will be home for good in a little more than one year and time flies.
