Nettie Pembroke N.H. July 23rd 1866 Monday eve. July 23, 1866 Pembroke, N.H. My own dearest, Here I linger yet detained by rain - We were all ready for an early start this morning, but it has rained steadily all day - We could'nt complain, for we were in a good place, and the rain was much needed, but I hope it will be pleasant tomorrow for it will make our Dunbarton visit short if we stay longer here. We have had a very nice visit here - They have laid themselves out for our comfort. Mary has been happy as a bird - So glad it rained & hopes it will tomorrow Sarah Guilly made me a long call to night. Twenty-one
