which was there also has all embarked and gone down the river I know not where. So that there is nothing left here now but cavalry. Appearances seem to indicate that not much is intended to be accomplished in the Department soon but this is only my opinion and is not worth much. One of Frank [Lutis?] artists took a [illegible] of our camp a couple of days ago and you may see it in that periodical ere long.

  Two of our boys have gone to Chicago during the last week on 20 day furloughs.  Michael Holmes and Chas.M.Bradley both married men.   The boys are all in good health.
