My dearest - Fanny and I have just come from the meeting of the General Conference at Balto? - George was tired and not very well, and had besides a funeral to attend on Wednesday and chose not to go at all - so Fanny & I went Tuesday afternoon - George had written for a place and had reserved a card of direction & introduction, so we went right to the place, and found it a very nice one indeed with Mr & Mrs Henry Palmer - nice house - nice food, and fine people. Mr Palmer took us all over the city this morning before meeting, in his double carriage - The meetings were some of them rather dull, and some quite interesting - Prof Harris was Moderat or of the meeting - Doct. Pond spoke often, Doct Carrithers & Mr Walker of Portland spoke well - I saw my old teacher of Gilmonton & his wife/ Rev Charles Tainy? crossed out Tenney/ now of Biddeford - Prof Packard
