7 miles we came upon the south fork of John (??Days River) about 5 miles below the mouth of the S.F. of S.F.

I kept little little scouting parties out eery day until Tuesday June 6 when on (pursuane of orders of returned to Camp Watson over a hill country for 18 miles where we arrived in the afternoon.

This scout has been rather a pleasure trip rather than otherwise. The infantry soldiers endured the trip well. They made the same marches as the cavalry.
