25 he reported to Supt C.G.W. who informed him that he had wired to Chicago for (12) twelve good men to do patrol duty under the supervision of the City Marshall and to be known as the employees of the C.B. and Q R.R. At 6 PM on the arrival of the freight train which stopped the freight yard. Opr. met Mr. James Patton with (11) eleven men and instructed them as to their duties and sent them to the City Hall to report to the City Marshall who placed them patroling the streets this made (36) thirty-six men appointed including the (12) twelve that came from the Agency and the city officers do not know these (12) are Pinkerton men. At 8 PM Opr had an interview with officer "W" and told him what he was to find out as to the assullt of Perry and all witnesses and of (2) drummers who stopped at the unclear Hotel also to find out who of the strikers carried sling shots. Opr. says everything is quiet up to 10.30 PM and that he will leave for Mendotta tomorrow.
