Harding presiding Reed was a "Rough" and killed another "Rough" by the name of James Simons at Sweet Home Valley in Linn Co Oregon, on the 7~ day of Nov 1879 Friday Jan 16~ 1880 Took train for Portland Or - arrived at 4 P.M. stopped at St Charles as usual Saturday January 17~ 1880 Remained in Portland - visited Sunday Jan 18~ 1880 Remained in Portland - visited Mr & Mrs D.W.P & Miss M.E.T. Monday January 19 ~ 1880 In company with unclear A.C. Gibles Mrs Daniels atty. proceeded to Albany on Train in afternoon - arrived at Albany at 8.30 P.M. Stop at "St Charles" Found Reed trial over. Deft acquitted Tuesday January 20 1880, The Daniels Divorce case came up for hearing before the court this evening Defendants Depositions were suppressed by an arbitrary ruling of the court & case continued = L unclear
