August 26th -- I set out in company with the mayordomo of the Hacienda and one of the labourers as Servant, for the Indian town of Chinapa distant nine leagues from Bacamuche and five from Arispe. -- The object of our journey was to collect people for the mines and for the work of the Hacienda, to occupy the place of those now working here, whom we will have to take with us to La Cananeá. We Set out about eleven o'clock, and for the first four leagues, our road lay thro' the narrow glen in which the river unclear after leaving the Valley of Bacamuche.
