Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Dale of Monroe County & State of Alabama, in virtue of a Written Power of Atty given me by Jeremiah Austill heir & administrator of Evan Austill, Decd. dated 9th day of October 1822, Have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto George or Oowanahtekiskee, a Cherokee Man of the Cherokee Nation, a certain Boy (said to be a mulatto) Slave named Moses, about ten or eleven years of age, for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred & Fifty Dollars, to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowlege. The right, title, claim & interest of said Boy. I do hereby warrant & will forever defend unto the said George or Oowanahtekeskee, his heirs & against the claim or demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof, I do hereby set my hand & seal. This 6th day of Nov one thousand Eight Hundred & Twenty Two.
