Very dear Son. We all think you to be a very "likely fellow,, Some of us Isaac Lucy Almeda etc. etc. think you almost perfect considering who your relatives are - but if I have any words where with to express my ideas - & withall if my ideas were not so confused and worthless - would undertake to tell you wherein you need mending - this I begun to write you days ago & got discouraged. I feel for the most part of the time that whatever I could write would not be worth the reading . I don't know what to do for L. poor girl if I had anything or could do anything to help her I would be glad to it seems wrong to me (as there is property in the family some) to have her so situated that she must be dependent on S. for every thing even Wedding dress to be taunted with it in years to come tis possible. She would have kept school and got something to pay you the last summer of her health has been sufficient for it. She ought to have a decent dress & I want she should have a half Doz. silver teaspoons marked with her name I have been thinking to keep 10 sheep on the farm here. ? my own use to clothe myself with etc. but if I could sell 4 or 5 of them I would be glad to, to get these things for her. tis very possible yes probable that you ay want in sewing or something she can do the full amount tho' not in clear cash your letter cautioned? her some times but by the sadness of the countenance My heart is made better some times I have not time to write anymore at present I want to talk with you shall we never see you do come home I want to write more but I have not time now
