Miss. river 60 miles below Napolean, Jan. 6th 1863, Sear Sister, For your sake to let you know of my whereabouts, I will write a few lines although I have nothing of interest to tell you. Our trip up the river so far has been without marked interest. At this place the boats have stoped to wood, there being an abundance of it about a quarter of a mile from the river, it was left at a good distance to prevent it from falling into our hands, but between Government
