Trail for assult and robbery on Eng. Petty of the Galesburg Division. Opr. then went to dinner and returned at 1 PM and continued visiting the specials untill 6 PM where he sent out the night guards and remained with them untill 2.30 AM, Apr 15th 1888 and nothing happing during the night he discontinued. Tuesday Apr 17/88 From 6 AM to 12 PM Opr. visited the guards on duty and after dinner he continued visiting them untill ^ PM when the specials went on for night duty and he remained out with them until 11 PM when he discontinued nothing of importance happening. Wednesday April 18/88 Opr to day from 6 AM to 12 PM visited the specials police detaild for day duty and continued visiting them untill 4.20 PM when Opr. received word that the strikers were going to make a break for them that night. Opr. went up and saw the mayor who ordered the Chief of Police to put his officers on duty at the station and unclear crossing and Opr placed the guards at the boarding house, Round House and & the Switches also curve at the end of the yard but the strikers didn't show up. Opr says about 11 PM they threw a stone at one of the switchmen and broke his lantern when he emptied his revolver
