                    Very dear Brother Isaac
                                           Your good letter of Sept. 16 was received in due season, i.e. just one week before we left Milo, which was last Saturday. I thought to answer it sooner, but literally had neither time nor opportunity. Charlie and Willie, (as they decided to call him) had both been quite unwell ever since they had the measles about the time you were there, with bowel complaint. Charlie got better but baby grew worse and worse until his disease terminated in Dropsy on the brain which caused his death. He ? Friday. The poor little fellow suffered a great deal the last few days of his life. He had one fit which lasted nearly three hours, the day before he died, and Fri. night another which lasted two hours or more, and died immediately after his muscles relaxed. Charles and Albina feel very bad indeed, but it would be a great deal harder for all of us to part with little Charlie. He is a dear little fellow- just such a little rogue as one cannot help loveing. Mr. Kittredge last his youngest child (an infant) about a week before baby died. It has been rather sickly in Milo for a short time past - two or three cases of real Cholera - no deaths. People have been excessively frightened here, and well they might be, for almost every case has proved fatal.
