Funeral of Esq. Russell he died instantly in his chair - Percie is all the time at my below - dont make my writing look much better He is a great fat boy - but I fear his mind rather cramp'd now a days for we? are, tho' very kind and pleasant & all that so sort of particular that he can have nothing to do that the man, do - any kind of plaything, litter up the room & if he has anything baby is apt to want it (we must learn him, to be kind & accommodating he has had a cold - & the croup slightly is constantly in this tight room with double windows & coal fire - He sews a little draws the chair about is thought to be rather roguish sometime, I've had some trouble to make him mind since I've got well more than I had before, but he is on the whole a very good boy - would have him go outdoor if he had any body to play with but he dont like to go out alone - Sam'l talks now that he should take him right on to Min. with him in the spring I dont love to think of it - Little Erving stands alone gets up & walks round by the side of the house - is a knowing little fellow - S. & E. are collecting debts S. said if they could all it would pay all their debts & have their slack [unclear] & 4000$ left that their nominal profits in 3 years had been 1400, - but I think El. is all the time perplex'd and [unclear] danger of bank failing &c I think I've got my paper full good bye from your loving Mother
