Dear Mother & Dear Isaac

I have been waiting and waiting to hear from you, and now when you have written, Jos. sent the epistle home to Milo without my seeing it. He and Eliab spent last night here however and told me what was in it, so I am in part consoled. I am very glad, Mother, that you went directly to Warwick, as I think it will be easier for you, and you will enjoy it more than to visit about from place to place so long before coming to a stopping place. You will have a nice time to do your visiting and looking about Boston while Anne is there in the Fall.
Samuel went to Augusta the day after you went away. He had a fine time and enjoyed it much. I was very glad he went. I enjoyed myself nicely at Mrs. Shepherd's while he was gone - had an opportunity to do Mrs. Shepherd's shopping etc. Anne came home with us Thursday night after Samuel got back, and staid till the next night - would have staid till Sat. but had calls etc . to make before commencing her school. I have got my Mantilla done. Anne helped me - "fixed it up" - you know she always had to fix me, don't you? I never feel - dressed when she is any where about, till she has fixed this and pinned that and pulled 'tother'! always take it as a matter of course that she will "wrestle with my garments" some way. She "trained round" finely the day she was here - making innovations as you tell about! I was very glad of her help, as I had not got anything fixed hardly, and she is such a good hand to arrange, you know. She is just as ready and willing to spend her strengths in money for others if they need it, as for herself.
I am perfectly contented here, and am happy - like better than I expected to. It does not seem at Milo as it would if you were there, Mother. Charles seems next to you, but tis not home there now. Charles writes that Tiger got safe one, after about a week's absence. We have decided to attend meeting here this
