Cottage Grove July 15th 1850 Dear Brother Your letter of Oct. 1st 1849 was received four days seince (sic), where the debel it had been for more than nine months is more than I can understand Your note of the 21st April was received while father was here, in which you said you would write me more freely in a short time, but as yet I have not heard anythinbg further from you Received a letter two days seince from father in which there is not much of importance We are now in our new house find it rather pleasant, and I find it is about time that we have some more convenient house, for we are getting charges uppon our house that require much and careful attention, the house an addition of a boy to our number of children, will be three weeks old on thursday next the 19th Hellen's Mother and sister have been with her ten days, the old lady I believe is rather discontented
