Friday May 13th

Road continues up Platte valley Raining some today. Saw several Hundred Buffaloes off at a distance today noon. wood is hard to get and we have to burn Buffalo chips and young green willows most of the time. We have thrown away the sheet Iron stove and many other things that we bought to mine with. We could buy provisions of the return Emigrants for one half what they cost in the city but we have more than we want to go to California with. Grass is short but very nutritious and our unclear do well camped opposite Grand Island traveled 25 miles
