Finding a gent?, here with whom I had recently become acquainted in Washington City. I was treated with great kindness by him and prolonged my stay in town two days, one of which being Sunday I went to Church. As a general rule, I think the Ohians are very generous to strangers, who come among them properly recommended. Leaving unknown on Monday I proceeded onward to Cincinnati, a distance of 57 unknown. This may be said to be the garden of Ohio--and my Road bordering the banks of the Miami rendered it very pleasant. The Canal also is mostly in sight of the Road, the whole distance from Dayton to Cincinnati. The only town of any note between the two points is Hamilton, tho being situated near a populous City it does not advance in improvement since it is 28 miles distant from Cinc'ti.
