Five o'clock P.M. There has been a rainy shower in consequence of which Mr. Bartlett and Mr. Brie of Hampden were driven in here for shelter, and here they have been for two mortal hours to my especial "discomfort." Mrs. Griffiths was all in the suds, washing floors etc., and I was forced to nurse the baby before them (as I could not carry him behind them) besides giving him a sugar rag most all the time to keep him quiet.
