I myself, Lucy, am at present this afternoon feeling better than I did, without hardly knowing why, except that Jane bought me some beautiful young checkerberry leaves, which I have munched with much gusto. Mother and I are having a nice time. I feel sort of selfish and guilty to keep her here away from Josie so long, but I don't want her to go till I get well enough to go with her, which I hope will be soon.
