On the following morning the first day of May I took the unclear Boat for New Brunswick. It was rather disagreeable, rather wind blowing a shady breeze from the south accompanied with rain, but in all circumstances there is generally something to render our situation tolerable, even when we are surrounded with unpleasant unclear, for 'tis not necessarily the case that our thoughts should be ritained to buffet the storm. The brisk breeze was to me in this instance a source of delight! The broad canvass which, square above square, tourned to an imposing height, and made the noble vessels seem things of life, as they wheeled and unclear to the fisherman's nod, called up no ordinary feelings.
