Journal by J. A. Wilkinson page 1 Across the Plains in 1859 Mar 8th 1859 

Started our teams to Pikes Peak from Dowagiae Cass County michigan, our Company consisting of Hungerfords wagon with Jake Hungerford and Orrin Hungerford both old Californians with two other men. 
Also a Mr. Mominees wagon with Mominee (an old French man) and Richard Robinson and Wm Bilderback both under 20 years

Also our own wagon with Uncle Dan Farnham an old Californian. Dan Farnham junior aged 21 and myself Age 2 years all from Cass County Michigan and all with ox teams
