A.W. reports. Streator Ills March 5th 1888 At 1 pm? Opr put his men on duty at depot and Round House. The Opr had a talk with some of the strikers, they said they had won over 8 of the new men he had brought. The Opr then went to Hank Young's Billard Hall with several of the, who commenced to talk what the Brotherhood had done in Iowa in regard to having a State Examiner to examine engineers before they could unclear on any of the engines. The Opr sent one man to Paw Paw to guard a unclear engine. The Opr put 2 men on 2 switch Engines in the yards and divided the balance of the men to guard Round house and depot both day and night. The Mayor and City Marshall promised to give Opr all the assistance they could. The Opr remained around the yards until 12 oclock when he discontinued his operations.
