50 thence to the castle which we only passed through & went to see the small collection of paintings which belong to it there were a few very pretty pictures--then returned to the Hotel & found that horses enough could not be obtained for us all therefore it was thought best that Miss & the maids should set off in the coach as it was the heaviest & was usually behind so off they went thinking that we should overtake them in a short time but to our great vexation & surprise 12 oclock struck, we had taken luncheon & were quite ready to set out yet the horses were wanted but a little before one oclock we were agreeably surprised by Frederic's coming up & telling us that their horses had come & would be put to, in a few minutes so at 1 oclock we were off by our carraige had 4 of the poorest animals to it I ever saw & we went on so slowly that brother Robert got down from his seat cart a ? & assisted the postilion to get them on but it was all to very little purpose
