that are about 3 miles in length. We took a walk through the American Cemetery it is a lovely little spot & kept in good order by the Consul. There are quite a number of graves here but the principal one to me was the Monument to the memory of American Soldiers who fell in the five battles fought in the valleys around here. There are about 700 hundred buried here. The monument is a simple granite shaft. I gathered a few flowers here- Rode home through Caratolls private drive. Enjoyed it, but thought of robbers all the time.
