stopped for coffee, I saw geraniums, vinca, Larkspur, Roses & a variety of other flowers. We passed through several old towns, whose principal features seemed to be the old churches, & tumbled down walls, And the most interesting feature of the whole ride was our slow winding in & out of mountains & valleys untill we reached the top, & from there we had a fine view of the villages below, cultivated fields, winding mountain streams, & the natives with their little donkeys (looking like little insects) creeping along the steep sides of the mountains. Took breakfast at Esperanza where our principal dish was a very fine omelette, Mount Orizaba towering
