Utica, May 17th, 1838.

Dear Jennie Everett:

Our Miss Susannah Wood is soon to leave the old Whitestown Seminary, it is said, for the old, yet new, state of matrimony. We want you for her successor in the school. The term will commence about the 25th of August.

I think we pay Miss Wood about $300 beside her furnished inserted room and board. Are willing to pay you the same. Can you, will you come? I hope you will. Please inform me same?.

Well we have a new principal in the Utica Academy at last. A gentleman from Exeter Academy, N. H.? is our present principal. A Miss Cole is preceptress?.
