Have not seen any whales yet nor sharks, some sea gulls have hovered over the water and a few porpoises have [ ] come up and dived around making the sea foam.

 Last night at 11 o'clock

we passed the light house of Cape Hatteras. I remained on deck untill 1/2 past eleven when I went down to my cabin. It was growing rough as we were crossing the Gulf Stream to-day there are white caps on the water and it is a decidedly cobalt blue - lighter than a sapphire blue.
