Osawatomie Oct. 3, 1856 Dear Father We received yours unknown from Utica this week. Were very glad to hear from home as usual. There is a report here that a town on Little Sugar Creek (25 m. south here) has been burnt, and others are unknown committed. But there are a great many false reports circulated.
