The writers forward to Gen: Stokes a true copy of a communication from certain individuals of the state of Arkansas styling themselves "the Committee of the Cane Hill Independent Reg-ulators" demanding the person of John R. Nicholson, a Cherokee citi-zen, for charges alledged against him, as therein set forth:- the writers declare that Mr Nicholson is prepared to prove, by as respect-table witness as that country, or any other, can produce, that, on the evening he is charged with having committed the atrocious crime in not clear" he was in the Cherokee nation, and at a distance of upwards of fifty miles from the place where the murder is said to hae been com-mitted';
