December Wednesday 9 1863 Cold sour & unpleasant__ Spent the day in my tent scared going out at all__ Maj Crusty called on me at [unclear] staid over the night going with us to the Reunion supper of the "Survivors of Wilson's [Hill?]" Had pleasant time returning at 1 o'clock in the morning I [unclear...] as did many others Thursday 10 Cloudy but mild & pleasant Paid QM on account $20.00 Am feeling well considering the dissipation of last night Rode up town & called upon Mrs Grove__ She seems bound to be unfortunate with trouble & is in trouble again here Genl Choudes having taken her free situation & bedding Wrote letters to Lib & Home Friday 11
Mild & pleasant__ in camp all day doing nothing__ Dr. Horton came back to night & he brought Ben with him The Major of the 90th NY Reg & me spent the evening together in my tent. Firing heard to day down the river _- Hear nothing but good news__
