Sat. Morning, Jan. 28 My dear Sister, Sarah has been a little better and brighter since I wrote you yesterday Though very weak. Dr. W was here this morning, - he says he does not think she has changed much since he was here before (Tuesday). - he says she has wonderful vitality. - has promised to see her again the first of the week. She had another hard time coughing and raising in the night last night - but did not vomit this time. We get the air pillows all right - and find them very nice and comfortable. The expressage was paid- - did you pay it; or Mr. A[?]?
We received your second letter last night. J. P. is going to R after dinner and I write this lest you may fail to hear by today's mail. R. V. L. and baby have gone to [?] today. R. with the horses, and the rest with Jane in the ears. I told the Dr. about your indecision in [?] about coming back he said he was sorry for you and had hoped that you could have [staid] longer. I think he does not blame you.
