arrived in Chicago at eight O.clock, Elbert at depot for us. Thursday November 7, 1901 Mr A.C. Badger, Mr Bland Ballard and family.

It has been cloudy all day, looks like snow. but at 6 O.clock, the sky indicated a clearing up. and sure enough, to day is beautiful, warmer and a bright sun, Elbert Harvey had a Carrette waiting for us. We drove up to Mrs Harvey,s house. Fernwood Villa, 5810, Monroe Avenue. all delighted to see us, Ballards wild over their baby girl who they had left at Mrs Harvey,x with her nurse Katie. they were nine days at Louisville Mrs Harvey gave us a delicious breakfast, then the Ballards gathered up their baggage. and started for their new home, at Lake Forest. which the have rented all furnished, for the winter from Mr John Dwight, I remained at Mrs Harveys to Lunch, my daughter Ada Henry came over and took Luncheon with me. We had a happy time at three O.clock Ada Henry took me in her Carriage to her beautiful home, 3656 Grand Boulevard. Mr Badger came up to Mrs Henry,s with his satchel, and we will remain here a few days. My son Shreve telephoned me that he was delighted I had arrived safely. his family was crazy to see me, as I have been away over three months. most of the time at the Seaside. I found all my children and their families in fine health & prosperity they all look fat and rosy. and happy.
