322 On a Sunday, while at Montreal, on my way to the Episcopal Cathedral of Christ's Church, I allowed time for worshiping the celebration of the High mass? at the Church or Cathedral annexed to the Jesuits College. As I left the building the though in my mind was I should like to as the Priests who have just been officiating, if they have a or can imagine any reasons for behaving, the this Service is either accpetible to God or unclear to man? In the English Cathedral this Service was very well + impressively read by and elderly clergyman but the young Clergyman who afterwards occupied the Pulpit was far too unclear acquainted with all that happens? in the the mind the almighty. Ni man cd be so fully acquainted with what happens? in the mind of his most familiar friend; hardly with what [[happens?}] in his own mind. One who has just come from The States may compare the manners + customs of the American travelling public with more of the Canadian.unclear. The former are very much in advance of the latter. The Canadian Conductor, unlike his brother officer to the south, appears to make no attempt to keep things + persons in order for his general advantage. Any body , however rough, (+ many Canadian travellers are in winter very rough indeed, perhaps because they are lumberers out for a holiday)
