1866 Sunday February 10 Clear but cold day Did not go to church but spent the greater part of the day in copying the account of Patterson Scofield from the books of Patterson Sherman - Find a balance in my favor of about $800.00 for which I am very thanksful - Took a good bath + changed my clothes - At night went to the Methodist church with William - Have just returned + am sitting at one end of the long table while Sherman is reading a little + Wm is working A negro preacher from [Oskalinda?] took up a collection today for a church for the colored people there
